Recently, Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Antai College of Economics and Management (ACEM) welcomed 96 international exchange students from 26 countries worldwide, including eight exchange students to the International MBA (IMBA) program of ACEM, marking the beginning of their fall semester exchange study journey.

To assist the international exchange students in smoothly adapting to life at SJTU Antai, the International Student Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University sent a 57-page informative guide to the exchange students in advance. This guide detailed practical information covering registration, international travel, insurance, transportation, visas, and campus life.

On the registration day of September 12th, the ACEM’s International Office, in collaboration with the Teaching Office, set up an additional college-level registration & welcoming session for this cohort of international exchange students in Room A303. Onsite, staff from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office together with student volunteers, help confirm the personal contact details with each student while patiently informing them about the orientation activities scheduled for September 13. Afterwards, student volunteers led the newcomers on a building tour of Antai College. Staff from the Teaching Office and student volunteers provided one-on-one, face-to-face personalized course selection consultations and provided handy materials such as class schedules, course catalogs, and course selection guidelines for the students.

On September 13, the cohort of the semester exchange students took the shuttle buses to the Minhang Campus to participate in the SJTU International Student Orientation event. Vice President Liu Weidong attended and delivered a welcome speech. Staff from corresponding department and functions provided information on Shanghai, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, immigration regulations, campus safety and others. Last but not the least, the International Student Center provided a Q&A session which efficiently addressed common and mutual concerns among exchange students, thus helping them smoothly embark upon their new journey in China and at SJTU.
